Applied recognised with prestigious Queen’s Award
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise acknowledges Applied Information Group’s efforts in expanding internationally

It’s celebrations all round today at the Applied studios, as we announce that we have been recognised as winners of the 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise! Applied is amongst select companies to be awarded the highest business accolade in the UK, in acknowledgement of our outstanding achievements in international trade.

Over the past year we have worked in ten countries across five continents, delivering innovative and award winning projects. Since we first won international recognition as the architect of Legible London, which set the gold standard for city wayfinding systems, we have successfully expanded into other sectors, including transportation, large-scaled mixed-use developments, university campuses, retail malls, airports, public parks and museums.  We have become global leaders in the field of creating user-focused wayfinding systems, and developed unrivalled expertise in digital mapping. Exports now account for 80% of our turnover!

Applied Wayfinding developed the wayfinding scheme at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, a famed Zaha Hadid creation.
We are delighted to have the global reach of our design firm recognized and proud to represent great British talent overseas. We look forward to continuing our work and helping more people around the world to find their way!Tim FendleyApplied founder, CEO, Creative Director
Applied began work in 2004 on the gold-standard wayfinding scheme, Legible London.

Congratulations are in order for our team, and we want to extend a special thanks to all our clients – our projects can be difficult, challenging and fun, but always engaging and fulfilling. And of course, a very happy birthday to Her Majesty the Queen! We’re already looking forward to attending the reception at Buckingham Palace, and a special awards ceremony later this year, in which we will be presented with the Grant of Appointment and a ceremonial crystal bowl.
